Begin your day at Tiananmen Square, the symbolic heart of modern China, where the scale of the city and the weight of history are immediately felt. From there, continue to the Forbidden City, the vast imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. As you walk through its grand courtyards, ceremonial gates, and palace halls along Beijing’s historic central axis, you will step into the world of emperors, court life, and centuries of imperial power.
Afternoon:
In the afternoon, head to Jingshan Park and climb to the top for one of the most rewarding panoramic views in Beijing, with the golden rooftops of the Forbidden City stretching out below you. Later, continue to the Summer Palace, where calm lakes, elegant pavilions, covered corridors, and landscaped hills reveal the refined beauty of China’s royal garden tradition. It is a slower and more graceful side of Beijing, offering a striking contrast to the grandeur of the imperial palace earlier in the day.

Standing here, it is easy to understand why the Great Wall remains one of China’s most unforgettable experiences.
Afternoon:
After returning to the city, continue to the Olympic Park for an outside visit to two of Beijing’s best-known modern landmarks — the Bird’s Nest and the Water Cube. Their striking architecture offers a very different side of the capital, where contemporary design and the energy of a modern global city stand in contrast to the history of the morning.

The architecture, symbolism, and atmosphere here reveal a more spiritual side of imperial China.
Afternoon:
Later, according to your train schedule, you will be transferred to the railway station and board a high-speed train to Xi’an. Upon arrival, your local guide will meet you at the station and escort you to your hotel for check-in, where you can settle in and prepare to explore one of China’s greatest ancient capitals.

Yes. This itinerary is one of the best options for first-time visitors who want to experience China’s most iconic highlights in one trip. Beijing showcases imperial history and the Great Wall, Xi’an introduces China’s ancient capital culture and the Terracotta Warriors, while Shanghai offers a modern contrast with its skyline, waterfront, and lively urban atmosphere.
Eight days is a well-balanced timeframe for travelers who want to see China’s classic “Golden Triangle” route in one journey. The pace is relatively compact, but the itinerary is designed to cover the main highlights of each city without unnecessary detours. If you prefer a slower pace, extra nights can be added in one or more destinations.
This tour is well suited for first-time visitors to China, couples, families, friends traveling together, and senior travelers in good general health. It is especially ideal for those who want a combination of imperial heritage, ancient history, and modern city life within a limited travel timeframe.
Spring and autumn are usually the most comfortable seasons for this route, with milder temperatures and better conditions for sightseeing in all three cities. Summer is also possible, though Beijing and Xi’an can be quite hot. Winter travel can be quieter and less crowded, but temperatures are much colder, especially in Beijing.
That depends on your travel style and budget. A private tour is better for travelers who want more flexibility, a more personalized pace, and a more independent experience. A small-group tour can be a good option for those who prefer a more cost-effective way to explore the same classic route. This itinerary can be arranged in either format depending on your needs.
