After you arrive in Chengdu, your professional local guide will be waiting for you in the airport or railway station arrival hall. You’ll be transferred by private vehicle to your pre-booked hotel for check-in, making the start smooth, simple, and stress-free. Once you’ve settled in and had a short rest, if you’d like a gentle first look at Chengdu, your guide can take you to a few nearby areas that are easy to enjoy without rushing.
• Kuanzhai Alley (Wide & Narrow Alleys) – Traditional Sichuan courtyard lanes, old Chengdu atmosphere, and an easy first taste of the city’s slower rhythm. • Wangping Street – A relaxed riverside stroll lined with small cafés and creative shops, where local life meets a more artsy side of Chengdu. • Kuixinglou Street – A famous foodie street for snack-hopping, perfect for trying Chengdu’s most loved street bites as you walk.
For food, your guide will recommend the best local choices based on what you feel like-Sichuan hot pot, twice-cooked pork, boiled beef in chili broth, and other Chengdu classics. Your guide can assist with recommendations, directions, and ordering, so you can enjoy your free time while still feeling fully looked after.
Accommodation: Chengdu
Hotel: Handpicked boutique hotel (Local 4-Star Standard or above)
Meals: Not included on arrival day
Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel on time. Travel by private vehicle to Dujiangyan, an easy and scenic day trip from Chengdu. Your morning highlight is the Dujiangyan Panda Base.
In a quieter, greener setting, you’ll observe giant pandas up close as they eat bamboo, climb, and lounge. Your guide will explain how panda conservation works in real life-daily care, enrichment, and the idea behind rewilding-style training-so the visit feels personal and meaningful, not rushed.
Afternoon: After lunch, continue to the UNESCO-listed Dujiangyan Irrigation System, one of China’s greatest ancient engineering achievements. Built over 2,000 years ago, it still controls the Min River today-without a dam-protecting the region from floods and nourishing Sichuan’s fertile plains. With your guide’s step-by-step interpretation, you’ll explore the core structures: Yuzui (Fish Mouth Levee), Feishayan (Flying Sand Weir), and Baopingkou (Bottle-Neck Channel).
As you walk the site, the logic becomes clear-how the river is divided, how sand is released, and how water flow is balanced in different seasons. It’s the kind of place that becomes truly impressive once you understand what you’re looking at. After the visit, check in to your hotel in Dujiangyan and take a short rest.
Evening: As night falls, head out for a relaxed stroll in Dujiangyan Ancient Town, where old streets and riverside paths come alive with warm lights. End the evening at Nanqiao (South Bridge / “Blue Bridge”), Dujiangyan’s signature night scene. The Min River glows beneath you, reflections ripple across the water, and traditional rooftops frame the view-an atmospheric, unhurried walk that captures Dujiangyan’s calm “slow life” charm before returning to the hotel for a restful night.
Accommodation: Dujiangyan
Hotel: Handpicked boutique hotel (Local 4-Star Standard or above)
Meals: Daily breakfast at the hotel
Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will escort you to Mt. Qingcheng by private vehicle, arriving directly at the scenic area entrance-no complicated transfers, no unnecessary waiting. As you begin the mountain visit, your guide will bring Qingcheng’s Taoist spirit to life with clear stories and context: the origins of Taoism here, key historical legends, and the architectural character of the mountain temples.
You’ll follow a focused route through the major highlights: Jianfu Palace, Shangqing Palace, and Laojun Pavilion -moving through shaded forest paths and misty green scenery that perfectly matches Qingcheng’s famous reputation: “the most tranquil mountain under heaven.”
Afternoon: After the mountain tour, travel by private car to your Qingcheng hot-spring hotel. The rest of the afternoon is designed for recovery and pure comfort-soak in the hot springs at your own pace, loosen up after the walk, and sink into the quiet “wellness” atmosphere of the mountain.
Evening: After your hot-spring time, the evening stays intentionally light and flexible-choose what matches your energy level. If you’d like something simple to eat, your guide can take you to a nearby local farmhouse restaurant for gentle mountain flavors such as wild mushroom soup with free-range chicken and seasonal stir-fried greens -filling but not heavy.
If you prefer fresh air instead, enjoy an easy stroll with your guide along nearby forest or countryside flat paths, feeling the cool mountain breeze and the calm night mood of Qingcheng. There is no fixed schedule tonight-this day is all about slowing down, recharging, and resting well.
Accommodation: Mt. Qingcheng
Hotel: Hot-spring hotel (Local 4-star standard or above)
Meals: Daily breakfast at the hotel
Morning: This morning, travel by private vehicle to Wangjianglou Park, one of Chengdu’s most elegant riverside gardens. Stroll through bamboo groves and waterside paths, then climb up to Chongli Pavilion for a classic view over the Jin River scenery. As you explore, your guide will introduce the refined aesthetics of western Sichuan gardens and the literary spirit behind the park.
You’ll visit cultural highlights such as Xue Tao Well and Huanjian Pavilion, and you’ll also discover some of the park’s most photogenic corners-bamboo “hidden” pathways, the quiet Liubei Pool, and other poetic garden scenes that most visitors would easily miss. A relaxing teahouse pause by the river is included during the visit.
With a cup of traditional covered-bowl tea (gaiwan) in hand, bamboo shadows overhead and a soft river breeze beside you, this is one of the best ways to feel Chengdu’s true rhythm-calm, unhurried, and deeply local.
Afternoon: After lunch, continue to Wenshu Monastery, a renowned Buddhist temple in Chengdu that feels surprisingly peaceful despite being in the heart of the city. Walk through its historic halls, courtyards, and cultural relics with your guide, who will explain the monastery’s history and key Buddhist traditions in a simple, engaging way. Incense smoke, ancient architecture, and quiet garden spaces create a gentle contrast to the modern city outside-an ideal afternoon for slowing down and resetting.

Hotel: Handpicked boutique hotel (Local 4-Star Standard or above)
Meals: Daily breakfast at the hotel
Morning: After breakfast, travel by private vehicle to Chengdu’s High-Tech Zone, where the city’s modern skyline and “park city” lifestyle come together. Start at the New Century Global Center, a landmark mega-complex known for its futuristic scale and bold design. Your guide will point out the best angles and key photo spots, so you can capture clean, architectural shots without wasting time wandering.
Next, head to Jincheng Lake Park, a local greenway for lakeside walks and easy jogging. Stroll along the waterfront paths, enjoy the open views, and look out toward the Global Center and the surrounding skyline. It’s a relaxed, very “Chengdu” way to experience the city: modern, spacious, and surprisingly calm.
Afternoon: After lunch, continue to Jiaozi Park and the iconic Jiaozi Ring. With your guide, you’ll unlock the best “photo-ready” viewpoints, walk the waterside trails, and get a clearer sense of how this district became Chengdu’s modern financial and lifestyle hub. This part of the day is paced to feel comfortable-there’s time to pause in nearby cafés or rest areas, and you can keep the walk light while still getting the best visuals and atmosphere.
Evening: After a short break, return to the heart of Jiaozi Financial City for the main event: the Jiaozi Twin Towers night view and light show. Your guide will recommend the most reliable vantage points-around the Jiaozi Ring, along the park lakeside, or from the midsection of Jiaozi Avenue -so you get the strongest skyline composition and reflections.
As the towers light up, the whole district feels cinematic: glass-and-steel silhouettes, glowing streets, and a modern Chengdu energy that contrasts perfectly with the heritage days in your itinerary. After the night views, your private vehicle will take you back to your hotel in the city.

Hotel: Handpicked boutique hotel (Local 4-Star Standard or above)
Meals: Daily breakfast at the hotel
Morning: This morning, visit Wuhou Shrine, the most important Three Kingdoms site in Chengdu and famous as the “home ground” of Shu-Han history. It is also unique in China for honoring both ruler and ministers in one ancestral temple complex. With your guide’s storytelling, the history becomes vivid: Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, the rise and fall of Shu-Han, and the strategic world behind the legends.
You’ll explore the main halls, the stele corridor, and the shrine gardens, then stop at Chengdu’s iconic photo spot, the Red Wall and Bamboo Shadows, where the quiet atmosphere feels timeless. Along the way, your guide will also help you “read” the stone inscriptions: little historical clues that most visitors walk past without noticing. Afterwards, take a short walk to nearby Nanjiao Park, a leafy local favorite.
This is not a “must-see landmark” kind of place; it’s where Chengdu people come to slow down. Stroll through classic garden scenery, pause by the carp ponds, and if you’d like, feed the koi while your guide shares a few local touches that make Chengdu feel so livable.
Afternoon: After lunch, continue to the Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum, a refined classical garden that preserves the former residence of Du Fu, China’s “Poet Sage,” during his years in Chengdu. Walk along bamboo-lined paths and quiet courtyards as your guide introduces Du Fu’s life story, his time in Chengdu, and why these years produced some of his most enduring works.
You’ll visit key areas such as the Thatched Cottage, Poetry History Hall, and Gongbu Shrine, absorbing the calm, poetic mood and the deep literary atmosphere that makes this place so special. Then head to Qingyang Palace, one of western Sichuan’s most renowned Taoist temples and an important Quanzhen Taoism site.
With your guide’s explanation, explore highlights including the Sanqing Hall, Bagua Pavilion, and the famous bronze “green goat” statue, while learning the basics of Taoist traditions, symbols, and the architectural details that give Qingyang Palace its distinctive character.
Accommodation: Chengdu
Hotel: Handpicked boutique hotel (Local 4-Star Standard or above)
Meals: Daily breakfast at the hotel
Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will accompany you by private vehicle to Leshan. Along the way, your guide will introduce Leshan’s background and the story behind the Giant Buddha, so you arrive already knowing what makes this place special. Upon arrival, head straight to the Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the largest cliff-carved Buddha statue in the world.
Follow the Lingyun Mountain pathways as you slowly descend toward the Buddha for a close-up view of its scale and presence. Your guide will explain how and why it was built, the legends surrounding it, and the incredible challenges of carving such a monument into the cliff-details that make the experience far more powerful than photos ever can. You will also visit key nearby sites such as Lingyun Temple and Wuyou Temple, adding cultural depth and a quieter atmosphere around the main highlight.
Afternoon: After the scenic area visit, continue into Leshan city for a very local, very satisfying finale: Zhanggongqiao Food Street. This is the best place to feel Leshan’s everyday “street life” energy-busy, lively, and full of real regional flavors. Based on your preferences, your guide will recommend the most classic Leshan specialties, such as Qiaojiao Beef, Leshan Tofu Pudding, Sweet-Skinned Duck, and Bobo Chicken.
Taste as much or as little as you like, snack as you stroll, and experience why Leshan is considered one of Sichuan’s most loved “food cities.”
Evening: After dinner, return to Chengdu by private vehicle. You can rest comfortably on the way back and recover from the day’s sightseeing. Upon arrival, your guide will escort you back to your hotel for a good night’s sleep.

Morning: Today is flexible and planned around your departure time. If your schedule allows, enjoy one last “only-in-Chengdu” moment at a traditional local teahouse-an unhurried, peaceful finale to your journey. Sip a steaming cup of covered-bowl tea (gaiwan) and, if you’d like, try Chengdu’s famous ear-cleaning (caier) service.
It’s a surprisingly relaxing ritual-the scent of tea in the air, soft conversations around you, and the feeling of real local life moving at its own gentle pace. It’s also a perfect way to ease travel fatigue before your flight or train.
Departure: Based on your flight or train schedule, your guide and driver will plan the best transfer route in advance and pick you up from the hotel on time. You’ll be transferred to the airport or railway station smoothly, bringing your private Sichuan journey to a seamless close.
