16-Day Guangzhou to Shanghai Private Tour: From Lingnan Heritage to the Fairy Cliffs of Wangxiangu & Huangshan

Tour Code: TCGSWH-131-16C

What You’ll Experience on This 16-Day Guangzhou to Shanghai Journey

A quieter side of China unfolds on this 16-day route, beginning with the southern character of Guangzhou before moving into misty valleys, Taoist mountains, ancient Huizhou villages, and the classical landscapes of Hangzhou. Rather than following only the best-known first-time China circuit, this journey is shaped around regional atmosphere — Lingnan culture, mountain scenery, village architecture, tea country, water-town life, and the contrast of Shanghai at the end.
From Guangzhou, the route turns inland toward Wangxiangu, Sanqingshan, Wuyuan, and Huangshan, where cliffside valleys, granite peaks, white-walled villages, old lanes, tea fields, and mountain views form the heart of the experience. The final days bring a softer change of pace in Hangzhou and nearby water-town scenery before Shanghai closes the journey with historic streets, the Bund, and a modern skyline across the Huangpu River. It is a route for travelers who want China to feel layered, visual, and deeply regional, not rushed from one major city to the next.

Later in the morning, continue to Lucun Village, known for its remarkable Huizhou wood-carving architecture. Visit the iconic Zhicheng Hall, often regarded as one of the finest examples of Huizhou’s traditional “three carvings” — wood, brick, and stone. Its detailed carvings feature figures, flowers, birds, and historical stories, reflecting the craftsmanship and cultural refinement of old Huizhou families.

Take a relaxed walk along the village stream and quiet lanes, where traditional white-walled, black-tiled residences still preserve a more peaceful and less commercialized side of Huizhou village life.

Return to Nanping Village for the home-style Huizhou lunch you helped prepare earlier. Depending on the day’s arrangement, lunch may also be served at a local farm restaurant in Lucun.
