5-Day Chongqing & Wulong Private Tour: Night Views & Karst Wonders

Tour Code:TCQW-029-5C

What You’ll Experience on This 5-Day Chongqing & Wulong Journey

Chongqing isn’t a city you simply “visit” — you climb it, feel it, and photograph it from ever-changing angles. On this fully private 5-day journey, your guide and dedicated vehicle take you from sky-high viewpoints over the Yangtze-Jialing confluence to the city’s best night scenes, then out to Wulong for China’s most dramatic karst landscapes. The pace stays flexible, the details stay smooth, and the moments feel unmistakably local – whether you’re walking old hillside lanes, catching sunset from Nanshan, or ending the trip with graffiti streets and a classic teahouse.

5-Day Chongqing & Wulong Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Chongqing - Easy City Intro

After landing in Chongqing (airport or railway station), your private guide will be waiting in the arrival hall with a welcome sign. On the drive into the city, you’ll get an easy, visual introduction to what makes Chongqing so unique: why it feels like there are “no flat roads,” how the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers shape the city into layers, and why the Yuzhong Peninsula sits at the heart of it all. A private vehicle and dedicated driver will escort you door to door.

We’ll help with luggage, check you in at your downtown hotel, and give you time to settle in and rest. Flexible light exploring based on your arrival time (easy pace, no rushing) If you arrive earlier: Shancheng Alley Step onto the elevated walkway and walk alongside the old stilt-house façades. As the lanes rise and fall, you’ll see the river and the older neighborhoods from changing heights-your first real taste of Chongqing’s iconic “up-and-down” geography.

If you arrive later: Daijia Alley Keep the walk comfortable and relaxed. Feel the river breeze, take in the night view of Qiansimen Bridge, and try local favorites like liangxia and bingfen -a gentle way to slip into Chongqing’s evening atmosphere. For dinner, your guide can recommend a well-loved local restaurant for authentic Chongqing flavors, with the spice level adjusted to your comfort.

Afterward, your private car will take you back to the hotel so you can recover from the journey.

Accommodation: Chongqing

Hotel: Handpicked boutique hotel (Local 4-Star Standard or above)

Meals: Not included on arrival day

Day 2 City Core & Night Views (Two Angles)

Morning: After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel. Travel by private vehicle to Raffles City Skybridge for a clear, high-level view of Chongqing-where the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers meet, how the Yuzhong Peninsula is laid out, and how bridges and towers line the riverbanks. Next, continue to Jiefangbei.

Instead of staying on the busiest main streets, your guide will take you through more atmospheric side lanes to find cleaner angles-so your photos feel cinematic, not crowded.

Afternoon: After lunch, take a short break, then drive to Nanshan. Enjoy a relaxed stroll through Huangjueya Old Street, then head to One Tree Viewpoint around sunset to capture the skyline’s shape and depth before the full glow of night takes over.

Evening: During the best night-view hours, you’ll experience Chongqing from two complementary perspectives. Start at Danzishi Liangjianghui Viewpoint for wide panoramas across the two rivers and the city core, then move to Hongyadong (riverside level) for the classic close-up angle-warm lights, stacked façades, and that unmistakable “Spirited Away” vibe. Your guide will point out the best photo spots and share the key architectural details behind the scene.

After the night views, your private car will transfer you back to the hotel for rest.

Accommodation: Chongqing

Hotel: Handpicked boutique hotel (Local 4-Star Standard or above)

Meals: Daily breakfast at the hotel

Day 3 Chongqing to Wulong - Three Natural Bridges & Fissure Gorge

Morning: Your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel. After breakfast, travel by private vehicle to Wulong (about 2.5 hours). On arrival, explore the Three Natural Bridges.

As the three massive stone arches appear one by one, you’ll walk beneath them through the canyon and feel the scale of Wulong’s karst landscape up close. Along the way, stop at famous film locations (including scenes from Curse of the Golden Flower). Your guide will help you match the viewpoints to the real terrain-so your photos feel strongly tied to the place, not just “a pretty backdrop.”

Afternoon: Continue to Longshuixia Fissure Gorge. Follow the boardwalk down into the canyon, with running water beside you, small waterfalls overhead, and textured rock walls closing in. The air becomes cooler and more humid as you go deeper-an immediate contrast to Chongqing’s city atmosphere.

Evening: Drive to Fairy Mountain Town to check in. Dinner is arranged as a local farmhouse-style meal, then enjoy a slow, easy evening stroll around the town at your own pace.

Accommodation: Fairy Mountain Town

Hotel: Hot-spring hotel (Local 4-star standard or above)

Meals: Daily breakfast at the hotel

Day 4 Fairy Mountain: Alpine Serenity & The City Pulse

Morning: A Breath of Fresh Air Your guide and driver will meet you to head into Fairy Mountain National Forest Park. This morning is designed around space and stillness. Forget the vertical density of Chongqing for a moment; here, the scenery unfolds in wide-open meadows and quiet forest trails.

The pace is intentionally slow. It’s not about “covering ground,” but about having the time to actually see: the vast blue skies, the rolling green slopes, and the soft ridgelines where cattle and sheep graze freely. It is a calm, spacious world that feels oceans apart from the metropolis below.

Optional Experiences If you’re feeling active, horse riding is a great way to explore the meadows. Or, you can take the vintage mini-train for a more relaxed loop. Your guide will explain the vibe and duration of each, so you can decide based on your mood.

Afternoon: From Pastoral Peace to Urban Energy After a relaxed lunch, we’ll head back to Chongqing via the expressway (approx. 2.5 hours). After refreshing at your hotel, the rest of the day stays completely flexible.

If you’re up for it, your guide can take you for a stroll through Guanyinqiao. This is where you’ll see the real evening flow of the city – not for tourists, but for locals. You can sample a few everyday street snacks and witness the vibrant energy of Chongqing’s modern life.

Of course, if you’d prefer a quiet evening to yourself, the night is yours.

Day 5 A Different Side of the City - Graffiti Streets, Teahouse Life & Departure

Today’s schedule is arranged flexibly around your departure time. Travel by private vehicle to Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street. Here, creativity spreads across walls, stairways, and street corners.

Your guide will lead you to spots with cleaner compositions and stronger visual balance-including the well-known stepped murals-so your photos reflect Chongqing’s character, not just a generic graffiti backdrop. Next, step into Traffic Teahouse. Order a cup of traditional local tea and settle into bamboo chairs at wooden tables, listening as regulars chat around you.

This is Chongqing at its most everyday and unpolished. Your guide will help you understand teahouse culture and how locals use these spaces to socialize, allowing the experience to feel naturally immersive rather than staged. Afterward, return to the hotel to collect your luggage.

Departure: Based on your onward flight or high-speed train schedule, your private guide and driver will arrange a smooth transfer to the airport or railway station, allowing plenty of buffer time for a relaxed departure. Should you be continuing your journey elsewhere in China, assistance can be arranged upon request.

Accommodation: Not included (Departure day)
